Iván Palomo es Tecnólogo Médico, Magister en Ciencias-Inmunología y  Doctor en Ciencias Biomédicas.

Profesor titular del Depto. Bioquímica Clínica e Inmunohematología de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Talca, Chile.

Ha participado en 117 artículos científicos de revistas  indexadas en  Scopus (82% también  en ISI), 66,9%  en cuartiles Q1+Q2 e Índice h 20.

Ha editado cinco libros disciplinarios  en Inmunología, Hematología, Laboratorio Clínico, y tres asociados a programas de investigación (Dieta mediterránea y Envejecimiento saludable, uno de estos últimos en prensa).

Desde 2010 a la fecha es Director de Investigación de la Universidad de Talca.
